Hello everyone! My name is Jamie (yup, that’s me below) and I’ve wanted to start a healthy living blog for some time now. Equipped with a Canon PowerShot and a willingness to try anything, I’m ready to become a hard-core blogger! In addition to detailing all of the meals that I eat, I will make a small change every week to improve health and wellness. Check out my Small Changes page to see the full list.
So who am I? I’m from a suburb of Detroit, Michigan and a senior at Duke University in North Carolina. I am studying biomedical engineering and I keep myself busy by teaching spinning at the school’s gym, watching Duke basketball (ESPN picture below), staying involved in a business club on campus, spending time with friends and… studying (yup, I’m a nerd).
Anyway, my family has always appreciated and loved delicious food, but I didn’t grow up in the healthiest of households. Italian cooking, big portions, and plenty of desserts were common in my house. Since moving to school, I’ve realized that I want to improve my food habits and I hope that this blog will help with this process. Additionally, I love trying new restaurants and learning about new foods and cooking techniques, so these will also be focuses of the blog. As a final note, I am not a nutritionist, so make sure you do your own research on anything I post and please take everything I say with a grain of salt (sorry guys, I’m already making food puns).
